About Chuck Halverson

Chuck Halverson is a Criminal Defense Attorney in Minnesota with more than 25 years of experience. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and Hamline University of Law. Chuck started his career as a Judicial Law Clerk. He then moved on to a position as an Associate Attorney at the firm of Borden, Steinbauer and Kruger, engaging in the general practice of law. From there he took a position as the Managing Attorney at the State Public Defenders Office in Brainerd. As the Managing Attorney and Lead Counsel, he handled most of the serious cases assigned to that office. During this period of time, Mr. Halverson attended National Criminal Defense College Trial School, sponsored by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
In 2001, Chuck started his own private practice and has dedicated his practice primarily to Criminal Defense. As a Criminal Defense Lawyer he has defended a vast range of criminal cases and guided hundreds of clients through the legal maze. His experience and knowledge of the legal system earned Mr. Halverson the high honor of being certified as a Criminal Law Specialist by the Minnesota Bar Association.

The Minnesota State Bar Association announces the certification of Charles Halverson, Charles Halverson Law Office as MSBA Board Certified Criminal Law Specialists. This Certification program is administered by the MSBA and approved by the State Board of Legal Certification.
The certified specialist designation is earned by leading attorneys who have completed a rigorous approval process, including an examination in the specialty area, peer review, and documented experience. Certified attorneys have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill and integrity in their specific field and can use the designation of specialist to advertise their credentials. This achievement has been earned by less than 3% of all licensed Minnesota attorneys.
With over 16,000 members, the MSBA is the state’s largest and most influential voluntary organization of attorneys, providing continuing legal education and public service opportunities for lawyers, and assistance to the legal system.
